Step into a Baja California retreat when you walk into Cacao Mexicatessen, open since 2009. Serving Mexican food with a modern twist, this laid back locale offers top quality dishes, starting with their specialty tacos served on hand-made corn tortillas some of our favorites are the Quesataco de Tijuana (albacore tuna), Carnitas de Pato (duck confit), Hongos Al Mojo (mushrooms), Camarones Enchipotlados (shrimp), and Chile Guero de Baja (chile relleno). For a lighter fare, try the Villas del Valle Quesadilla topped with pesto and for a bigger appetite we recommend the Tres Puerquitos (porkbelly, chorizo, cochinita pibil). You can unwind in their bar area with their Mexican Wine, Craft Beer, or Agave Margarita, they also specialize in coffees and lattes. Closed Monday, Tues-Sat 8:30am to 9pm, Sun 8:30am to 8pm. •
